Nita Shah, leads the Governance, Risk and Compliance function at Flywheel Advisory. She is a seasoned risk professional with over 40 years’ experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Audit, Accounting and Credit Risk Management.
Nita began her career as a Company Secretary with PKF and thereafter transitioned into a prolific audit and accounting career with UK based audit firms, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers Kenya where she worked as senior auditor. Nita later switched gears for a 4-year stint in internal audit, where she reported directly to the board of directors.
Subsequently, Nita embarked on what would be a fruitful 21-year journey at Diamond Trust Bank. Her passion for strong governance and controls saw her head up various departments and rise to the position of General Manager having successfully set-up and led the Enterprise-Wide Risk & Compliance and Internal Audit functions reporting to the Board. Nita was very instrumental in the implementation of a credit risk management solution and scoring models across customer segments in the Bank. She was a member of the Management Credit Committee.
Nita is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA), an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute of the United Kingdom and Ireland (ACGI), and an Associate of the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya - with a Practicing Certificate.
Nita is involved in philanthropic and honorary activities, practices yoga. She enjoys reading philosophy and spiritual books, as well as mountain climbing and traveling.
