Nita Shah is a seasoned Enterprise Risk Management Specialist with extensive experience in governance, risk management, credit risk management, audit, and accounting. Currently serving as the Director of Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance at Flywheel Advisory, Nita is responsible for overseeing the firm’s risk management and compliance programs. She plays a pivotal role in developing and administering enterprise risk management initiatives, ensuring high-quality assurance, and supporting clients with robust internal controls and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Her career includes notable experience as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board Risk Management Committee at Bank of Africa (Kenya), where she has been instrumental in guiding the board on risk management practices since January 2023.

Before joining Flywheel Advisory in January 2022, Nita held significant positions at Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited (DTB Kenya), including Regional General Manager of Credit Support and General Manager of Group Risk Management & Credit Management. In these roles, she was crucial in managing credit portfolios, implementing risk management frameworks, and spearheading projects that enhanced the bank’s credit and risk management practices across East Africa.

Nita’s earlier roles include serving as Regional Senior Manager Audit at DTB Kenya, Internal Audit Manager at SimbaColt Motors Limited, and Internal Audit Manager & Company Secretary at Phoenix of East Africa Assurance Co Ltd. She began her career with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) as a Senior Auditor, where she led audit teams across various industries and regions.

She holds a Chartered Accountant (FCCA) qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is an Associate Chartered Governance (ACG) with The Chartered Governance Institute UK and Ireland. Nita is also a Certified Public Secretary with a Practicing Certificate (CPS) from The Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya.
